Swelling/Bumps on Glans

by Astraeus, Jun 05, 2008 04:24PM
Hello,

A few months ago I noticed a "bump" on my glans near the right bottom of the urethra. It's flesh colored, soft, smooth, and round.  There's another bump on the left side that is longer and wider, though not quite as high, and is slightly different in color (a little bit darker but not considerably).  They almost look like they're swollen parts of skin.  I don't think they're do to any type or irritation of the skin, as they've been there for 2-3 months now.  They also don't hurt in any way and have never popped or excreted any type of pus.

I thought that they may be some sort of STD (like genital warts), though I've always used a condom during sex.  I read on a few health sites that if you put acetic acid warts for a few minutes that they turn to white.  I tried that and there was no change in color. They also don't really look like warts and they aren't clustered like I see in the pictures on the internet (though it's hard to find anything but extremely serious cases), but I'm not really sure what else it could be. I have finally decided to see a doctor about it but I won't get in until monday at the earliest.  Do you think that I'm simply worrying too much or could it be something serious?

Hi

Skin colored bumps or lumps may have warts, molluscum or skin tags as differentials. It is important to note any significant sexual history if any in your case. In the presence of a sexual history then warts and molluscum have to be excluded first.

It is best to have this assessed by your doctor just to be sure. Warts may vary in presentation. They may be solitary or in clusters. They may also be tiny from about 2 mm to really large cauliflower like ones.

Have you been exposed to any one with warts or ay skin infections?

well it started with pain during urination several months ago. i get monthly UT from pain doctor and he told me there was white blood cells apparent. within the past month or 2 i now found two 1mm small lumps on the underside of penis near the tip of the urethra, i found this area to be called the external urethral orifice. the pain is stabbing after urination and im quite worried about this being warts or another STD. please help in anyway...
