- this has been happening for around one month now, happening 3 to 4 times a week. Usually starting in the evening I feel a tingling sensation in my lip, which is followed by lip swelling. The swellings themselves are usually quite hard and can last more than ten hours before they go down. Both upper and lower lips have swollen but not at the same time. I have taken oral antihistamines but with no obvious effect.
Swollen hands - around 1 month ago also I had a tingling feeling all over my hands and then they began to peel, this had pretty much settled down now but every so often at random I feel a pins and needles sensation in part of my hand eg the base of one of my fingers, which then begins to itch and swell although it is not red. This usually subside after a couple of minutes.
I have also been getting some acid reflux recently, although I have suffered with it in the past I have not had it for some time up until now.
Finally, my eyes have been red recently, they haven't been itchy just 'blood shot'. My optician thinks it is due to my contact lens, but do you think it could be related. They mentioned I may have developed a reaction to the lens.
I am around a month away from exams and my father passed away unexpectedly in january of this year, and so I have been feeling quite stressed and emotional at times. I have no history of allergies, and no one in my family really has any history of allergies apart from a cousuin with asthma.
Are these symptoms all related to something? What could it be? Its starting to become very irritating waking up with swollen lips now.
