TEMPORARY OR LONG TERM HAIR LOSS??

Hi, I'm only 20 years old and currently I have been experiencing an excessive hair loss and I think it has been couple of weeks to a month. My hair has become thinner and easily fall off, for example when I scratch my head, usually the hair and the root itsel fall out, also when I did a weak hair-pull trial, there are always hair come out. The root that came out is usually thick, more like a comedo, and often left some sort of holes in my scalp.
I have been using shampoo Kerastase Bain Prevention which said to reduce the risk of hair loss, however it doesn't seem to work. and I have been reccomended tonic/serum such as Kerastase, Neril, and Prosante and I only recently use Prosante since the Kerastase doesn't seem to work. I also went to a clinic, which said my only option is to use Minoxidil and Propecia (once commence the treatment, I have to keep using it). However, since the clinic didn't run any tests or even look at my scalp, so I think they only assume that this is a hereditary hair loss, whereas, when I asked hair stylist from salons at westfield eastgarden pagewood , they commented that they don't seem to see anything wrong with my hair, and my hair seem to be thick. -  I know my hair is still thick, but before this happens, my hair was way thicker than this. Now i couldn't even touch my hair.
Also, now sometimes i feel just a bit itchy on random spots on my scalp. I never scratch them, but whenever i feel itchy on a spot on my scalp, i do a very soft pull on that spot, and effortlessly there are always hair that come out. i think the each itchiness indicates couple strand of hairs falling off. In addition, i have spotted small red and swollen on my scalp, it is similar to early stage of pimples. However these pimple like spots are not many, probably 2 or 3.

Please advise me what to do as im very confused what has been the problem
