Tan colored spots

I get this tan colored spots on my neck and chest area. They show up in many sizes from my neck down to under my breasts. I get them every summer and have tried many creams to make them go away. I've been to my family doctor, yet nothing has worked to get them to go away and stay away. Does anyone have a clue to what they could be.

I got come spots that were all different sizes all over my neck down to my stomach earlier this year. they didn't really itch, but they stayed for months and looked terrible. I went to the doctor and it was a virus called Pityriasis Rosea. They said it is caused by other viruses, like flu, etc. I ended up having mono. I just had to wait for them to go away with the mono because there is no medicine to cure them since it is a virus; you have to let it run its course.

Hello,
From the symptoms it sounds like tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines.
Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.

I hope that helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
