Tanning Lotion

Tanning Lotion

I recently purchased Johnson's self tanning lotion to get a quick tan because I have stopped going to the tanning booth for approximately 2 years now. I am now noticing small brown spots on my arms and chest since doing this. I did not have them before or if so, did not see them as I do now. They have only appeared on my arms and chest where I apply most of this cream. Could they be age spots and the lotion is bringing out their appearance?

Thanks,
Mary

Hello,
These can be due to contact dermatitis or hyperpigmnetated spots. Stop applying the tanning lotion. If the spots persist, then treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
