Tanning has created a dark shadow on my upper lip

I started tanning again in a tanning booth about two weeks ago and about a week ago I have noticed that my upper lip is getting an almost mustach looking dark shadow. I have tanned for years in the past and this has never happened but now I tan in much nicer booths and since they are stand up, I dont cover my face at all like I used to with a towel in the lay down beds. I need to know if anyone knows how I can get rid of this. I have never had to wax my upper lip (this is the color of my skin, not any hair) and I have only freckles on my face with no skin issues in my past.
Has this happened to anyone before? What is a quick solution? If you know, I would really appreciate it. Of course, I am now going to use sunblock on my face and use a face cover in the booth but I dont want to wait weeks for this to fade.

For such type of hyperpigmentation after tanning, it usually goes back after you leave tanning. If it persists then topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.  Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions.  Skin resurfacing using lasers is also an option.
