Herpes is more common Thayne a lot of you know. And most people don't know that there are no test for the disease unless there is an actual outbreak. I have these symptoms every so often and have the virus myself. The guy I contacted it from has never had a outbreak and tested negative. I'm sure it came from him because he was my first unprotected partner. Sometimes it's accompanied with a swollen lymph node. Which can usually be felt in the groin area and is a very soar spot that hurts and feels like a knot. Also sometimes itchy spot somewhere around the genitals or butthole and accompanied with a bump that starts off itchy and then burns. I hope this helps good luck people
Allodynia. Talk to your doctor.
The last two days the inside of my left thigh has been really hurting there is no redness or swelling or damage to my skin I haven't done anything to my leg it just seems to hurt when I lightly touch the surface of my skin or when I begin to walk but when I apply pressure there is no pain. The pain is slightly increasing when I walk or when I touch it I don't need to feel it when I'm sitting down or when I am laying down is just when I touch my thigh and when I walk
ive had this pain on my lower right leg, it hurt badly when i touched it, I went to the doctor who sent me to the hospital for an MRI, the results came back and the doctors concluded that I have osteomyelitis (bone infection) I stayed at the hospital for 5 days, got a pick line and was sent home for 1 month on I.V medicine... turns out they misdiagnosed and the terrible side affects of the medicine and the heartache of having a pick line during summer vacation was all for nothing. I went back to the hospital who referred me to a specialist who had a 5 hour wait, once we got in his office he sent us out in 10 mins referring me to a bone doctor, she arranged a bone scan and it turns out nothing was there in the 1st place, she sent me home... 6 months later I still have this pain, iv had it for about a year now and kinda built my life around it trying my best not to hurt it because if I even touched it, my leg would give out this excruciating pain, I kinda just accepted the fact that Ill have this pain... my uncle said ill grow out of it, and I hope I do... its been restricting me from doing things I love to do like martial arts because I cant use my leg, and any sort of hard impact while jumping will hurt... any professionals that have dealt with similar cases here to help?
Thanks for reading
The pain is below the knee and is tender to the touch of the leg
Also I have no visable signs when this pain comes I thought at first it may have to do with my immune system but turns out my immune system gets low during times when my hormones dip or I get sick and sure enough it causes the virus to emerge causing skin sensitivity in my legs mainly back of the legs and buttocks for me but sometimes on my lower back
Did stopping the pretzels help. I have been living with this for 3 years and non of my doctors can figure it out.
Tenderness to touch to right thigh
I just recently (2 days) have had a burning sensation when my shorts rubbed up against my upper thigh towards my hip, but not up where the joint is. It is only on one leg and there is no visible bruising, rash, etc. It just came out of nowhere and also hurts when I touch it. It is less of a pain, and more of an annoyance, but I fear it will get worse. Thanks for the comments, because I have been eating a lot more pretzels than I normally do so I am going to stop that and see if it helps.
I have this pain also back of my thighs and goes into my crotch. Sorry have to be honest to see if anyone else has it like this. Any one know what causes this? What can you do to relieve it?
Thanks so much for this explanation. It describes my symptoms exactly.
So allodynia it is.
Interesting. I know u sent this year's ago, but I was researching the same symptoms. I have R.A. too. The pain when cloth touches is unbearable. I found this watercress with lidocaine how the pain. Weird, came out of nowhere and there is nothing I can see.
This problem has been with me for 3 weeks. It started a few days after I came back from staying in hospital for 3 days, sleeping and sitting in a recliner, with a clean sheet on it -- and I probably stayed in the same pants for about a week -- no shower -- I just had not time. I felt my skin itch and nerves very painful when I put a little pressure on skin, in areas on by rear end, thighs, lower back. Pain was intense around elastic of my briefs. I would take off my clothes in my apt while I did my desk work, but that only helped a little. Clothes brought back the pain without relief. Lotrimin helped a little -- I thought there might be a fungal issue. But, it cured nothing. Witch hazel provided very temporary relief. I think I was gaining weight due to constant eating at the hospital and since. So, this might have been my skin stretching. So, I looked for scar tissue relief.
Finally, I tried Gold Bond Anti-Itch (Medicated, Intensive Relief) and it has helped tremendously over the past 24 hours!!! Still not cured. I will try to avoid sugar and carbs, I will try to lose weight, I will try B-12 and garlic pills, I am trying softer and bigger clothing, and this is helping. I am very glad, though sad, to see that many other people have this. Hopefully this isn't terminal or contagious, and will be over soon!!
Sugar pain
I do nails in a salon, and yesterday one of my clients mentioned this pain to me (I have it as well, but I refer to it as a wandering pain). I was so excited to hear that someone else was experiencing this!
This pain is so bizarre! There's never any visual evidence of a bruise or something similar, but the skin feels like you've been beaten with a baseball bat! The last occurrence was on my left outer thigh, but it's happened on both forearms, right shin, left outer upper arm....even at the base of my skull on the right side that even felt like my HAIR hurt! I have done many internet searches on "wandering" skin pain, or skin pain that comes and goes, and the only thing that consistently comes up is fibromyalgia and that didn't seem to fit.
BUT.... This client of mine recognized that the pain happens after she eats a lot of SUGAR or binge eats. And it doesn't have to only be sweets that you're bingeing on, could be carbs like chips and bread, because your body will TURN that into sugar on its own.
This was like a lightbulb for me.... I had never made the correlation between SUGAR and the pain before....it totally makes sense FOR ME. Also, when you do an Internet search for SUGAR AND SKIN PAIN a lot of interesting things come up that make more sense to ME.
I lost 145lbs about 11 yrs ago, so I basically eat healthy, but when I have "those moments" where I eat something high in sugar or carbs.....a few hours later, or even the next day, the pain will begin and lasts a couple of days.
I'm curious to see if anyone else feels this is correct for them. Our bodies sure are weird yet miraculous things!
Have you found out what it is, and what causes
I have been experiencing extreme tenderness on the front of my right upper leg for the last couple days, and before that it was just very numb and tight skinn-feeling for about a week, it was driving me crazy! I did not injure myself and have never had this problem before, I don't know why it went from being numb to extremely sore and tender, I can barely touch it it hurts so bad! Any ideas on what is going on?
Possible that your nerve is getting compressed or there is poor circulation to your leg. You may see http://dynamicnaturesite.blogspot.com/2009/11/skin-sensitive-to-touch-tender-skin.html for further info.
I have tenderness in one leg which is my right leg but the sensitive an tenderness feeling is only in the back of my leg from the top to the bottom of my feet an pain shoot through it every 10 to 15 mins. I get this all the time but it be months befor it even comes back. sometimes its in myhands an arms bt when ever it it happens nothing can't touch it or rub agains it an if something cold touches it really HURTS AN ACHES i would really like to find out what's going on
Allodynia & Fibromyalgia Pain
Is your skin painful to touch? A symptom that perplexes a lot of us is allodynia. That's what it's called when mild pressure from clothing or gentle massage causes pain. A lot people describe allodynia as similar to a bad sunburn.
Allodynia is a fairly rare type of pain -- other than FMS, it's only associated with a handful of conditions, including neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia (shingles) and migraine. Allodynia is believed to be a hypersensitive reaction that may result from the central sensitization associated with FMS. The pain signals originate with specialized nerves, called nociceptors, that sense information about things like temperature and painful stimuli right from the skin.
Allodynia comes in 3 forms:
Tactile, which is pain from touch or gentle pressure
Mechanical, which is from something moving across your skin
Thermal, which is pain from heat or cold that's not severe enough to damage tissues
Some drugs that work for some people with allodynia include:
Tramadol
Lidocaine
Ketamine
Morphine
Venlafaxine
ome people also get relief from topical pain creams (capsaicin, Tiger Balm, Aspercreme, BioFreeze). Paying close attention to the way you dress can help alleviate allodynia as well.
If you have allodynia, massage therapy may make it worse. If you feel other aspects of your health would benefit from massage, be sure to discuss allodynia with your doctor and massage therapist and keep track of how treatments impact this symptom.
Painful Paresthesia & Fibromyalgia
Paresthesias are odd nerve sensations that can feel like crawling, tingling, burning, itching or numbness. Sometimes, these sensations can be painful. Paresthsias are also associated with peripheral neuropathy, chemotherapy drugs, multiple sclerosis and migraine.
Many common FMS treatments can help alleviate paresthesia-related pain, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). Some people also have good luck with vitamin B12, capsaicin cream, massage and acupuncture.
Oh and there's no visible bruising, redness, rash. For that matter I know I haven't hurt myself either. It's unexplainable
This just started with me today, about 2hrs ago! My dear god! What is it? What's wrong??? :(
My right leg, over my knee and to the side hurt. I tried just touching it slightly with my index finger. It felt like my skin is burning. I thought I was tripping out!!! But it's real. I'm laying in bed now, trying not to move.my silk pajama pants irritate my leg if I move. I'm now reading and researching. It's crazy. What is it? I don't know. I have R.A. And today I had blood taken out for testing. Ok
Freaking out and still searching..... Sorry dont know what this is. It hurts I hate it :/
