Thunb sucker and small red bumps

My 11 month old baby has developed small red bumps on his thumb.  He is a thumb sucker and does prefer this thumb but will suck on the other.  I have also noticed a few of these bumps on his knees.   Not as many as on his thumb.  He doesn't seem to be bothered by them, still ***** his thumb but his thumb looks really bad.  Looks a little swollen to me and it seems a little chaped as well.  DO you know what this might be???

From the symptoms it sounds like dermatitis.First of all make sure that your son does not suck his thumb.Make him wear cotton gloves and apply calamine lotion on his thumb.If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist as mild steroids may be needed.
