Tiny White Bumps

I Noticed tiny white bumps on my lips, the corner where my lips meet.  i have a lil more on my top lip then i do on my bottom... they are white and they dont hurt at all... when i am relaxed you can berly notice them but i feel when i smile i can notice it a lil more... if i strecth my lip i can see the tiny lil bumps... look like tiny white heads under my skin that can not be popped.. can you help figure out what this is?? if this is really some kind of acne?? or something else... how can i treat it?

Hello,

They sound like Fordyce spots. They are small yellowish-white granules on the inner surface and border of the lips.They are a natural occurrence and are not contagious.

Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization.So if you want them removed ,pls discuss these options with your dermatologist.

They won't "clear up." They're completely normal and they aren't contagious. Read the info on the website.

Thanks.... so do i have to just wait for it to clear up on its own?? and how do you get Fordyce spots?? and are they Contagious??

They are Fordyce Spots. You don't treat them, they are perfectly normal to have and most people do. They may also be found in the genital area. Here's a good link-

Sounds like milia - caused by hormones - you see that sometimes on babies right after birth.  Sometimes women get these little bumps as their hormones change
