Tiny black dot on tip of penis

Hi there,

For a long while now, I have had a tiny (as small as if I were to take a pen and dot it on a sheet of paper) black dot just left of the urethra right on the opening.  It doesn't hurt, no rash, doesn't even look raised, but am very curious as to what it is.  I have no other symptoms regarding an STD and although it has been some time since my last test - it all came back negative.

I couldn't say when I first noticed it or whether or not it has been there all of my life and I never noticed it? Thoughts?

It can be due to a penile melanotic macule. It is a small, sharply circumscribed, pigmented macule surrounded by normal-appearing skin. It is harmless and does not spread.

If you notice any spreading or itching associated with this black dot, then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
