Tiny red bumps on my arms and chest...

by HollyOlly, Apr 23, 2009 09:13AM
I have these tiny red bumps on my arms and chest that seem to be spreading to other areas of my body. I haven't been in the woods recently and I've already had chicken pox. These are smaller thanI've experianced before and they ich almost constantly. They are small and pimple like but without the heads.I don't have health insurance and there are no free clinics in my area that can see me until June. I don't know what to do, and I'm not allergic to anything that I know of besides metal and I get itchy when metal touches my skin but no metal is touching these areas. I would appreciate any advice on what to do anyone could give me. I've been using hydrocortisone cream and it seems to be helping with the patch of bumps on my chest but they are still spreading to my arms. Again any information would be much appreciated.

Sounds like some kind of folliculitus (folliculitis).  You could use the acne body wash first and dont scratch um!!

HI,

If you do not have history of allergies, this could be an irritation, infection or skn conditions such as dermatitis. Irritant contact dermatitis is caused by excessive contact with irritants such as water, soaps, detergents, solvents, acids, alkalis, and friction. THis may affect  anyone, providing they have had enough exposure to the irritant. If it persists, have this evaluated further for proper management. Cold compresses, calamine lotion or over-the-counter anti-histamine medications may help.

Take care and keep us posted.
