rash. My (nearly) 2 yr old daughter has had exactly the same thing for just over a month now, and her pediatrician(s) don't know what it is. It is sometimes a few whitehead pimples scattered around her entire face
or chalzions and not related to the other pimples, but I'm not so sure. I wondered if AngiS ever got a diagnosis or a lasting solution to her daughter's problem. How could I find out?
My 17th month old daughter also has a "appearing/disappearing/reappearing" rash exactly what AngiS (post 2/7/06) and MickiC (post 5/7/07) described. They are small red pimples that swell almost like a mosquito bite
but then goes away sometimes in a few hours or overnight. Her pediatrician didn't know the cause but recommended 1% hydrocortisone. A dermatologist diagnosed it as bullous
impetigo (bacteria) but her pimples don't burst nor get crusty, they swell and goes away and comes back. The nurse at her pediatrician's office today said it could be pink eye but she's not itchy and what about the pimples on her cheek? I'm most concerned about the ones on her eyelid and corners of her eye. It also doesn't appear to bother her, she doesn't rub nor itch it and she has the same happy demeanor. She has however had very chapped lips and more nasal discharge than usual (but no where near like having a cold). Does anyone know what the followup was for MickiC, Angi S??? Does anyone have the same problem with their toddler? Anyone know what this could be???
I am on this site for answers to similar problems with my grandson who is 16 months. He has had pimple like problems on his eyes with some swelling that comes and goes. But he now has what looks like chicken pox at times on his face that has been constant for several weeks. Lots of red bumps and some with small white pustules with a larger red area around those. Always on his cheeks, eyes and nose now. The best site I found was Dr.greene site. It says it's more prevalant in boys but girls can have it too. It is an extended form of infant acne that can last 2-3 years and up to 11 years. His advice is to wash with mild cleanser and use topical antibiotics. If no help there, get a pediatric safe scrip from your doc of benzoyl peroxide. Visit the site. If you have anything else out ....please let me in on it.
