Two Red Spots on Penis

by njrots, Feb 03, 2009 06:08PM
I have two spots on the head of my penis.  They are completley flat and are not painful what so ever.  I first noticed them in about August of 2008.  One is very clearly defined and looks much like a mole/bruise.  The other is less noticeable but about the same size (average small mole size), and in very close proximity.  It kind of looks like a bite.  I am concerned about what the spots are.  I am hoping they are just harmless skin discolorations, as when stretched they become faint.  However, there is the thought in the back of my mind that it could be some STD.  I can't believe it could be because herpes goes away and they have never turned into sores or changed.  I don't know what to do, and I can't find anything that really looks like them.  HELP me...I can't stop thinking about these nagging spots.

Hi,

This could be cherry angiomas, though nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

Cherry angiomas are benign , fairly common skin growths that vary in size. They can occur almost anywhere on the body but usually develop on the trunk.

They are most common after age 40. The cause is unknown. Although painless and harmless, cherry angiomas may bleed profusely if injured.

Cherry angiomas generally do not need to be treated. If they are cosmetically displeasing or prone to bleeding, angiomas may be removed by surgery, freezing (cryotherapy ), burning (electrosurgery/cautery), or laser.

Let us know if you need any other information.

Regards.

They cannot be not cherry angiomas.  Those are raised and much darker than what I have.  These are much more freckle like.  They haven't changed at all and remain the same.
