Background:
I have talked to my dermatologist, but he said he only had 2 ideas, fungal or rosacea. I am currently apply anti-fungal creams and taking pills he has prescribed. But after 1 1/2weeks it is not working.
I ruled out contact dermatitis because first of all, no new products or clothing had been used or brought into the house. I have used cetaphil lotion, aveeno cleanser, dove bodywash, and the same brand of makeup for nearly 2 years. Also to double check it wasn't contact dermatitis, it has been 3 weeks and I have only used cotton shirts and sheets with natural mud dyes, applied the creams I was asked to put on by my dermatologist, used either Vaseline or olive oil as a moisturizer, and my house was cleaned from head
to toe.
I have no pets.
I have tried using both Desonate and my eczema cream as a remedy on a tiny patch, no improvements.
Climate where I live is dry
Ideas so far:
My mother thought it was from my birth control pills for my acne (Orthotricycline-lo) but my dermatologist shot that down.
The only current ideas standing is a fungal infection or rosacea, both of which I am skeptical about.
Any clues or hunches would be greatly appreciated since I have none that seem plausible to me at the moment.
Thank you.
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be photodermatitis, polymorphous light eruption, lichen planus actinicus, tinea versicolor or roscaea as the dermatologist is suspecting. My sincere advice would be to discuss these possibilities with your dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
So on my chest the anti-fungal creams worked after another week but my neck is in the same condition. I am heading towards the idea of Autoeczematization at this point and will post to see what the dermatologist says!
