Uncertain about bump on penis

by fballfan, Nov 08, 2006 12:00AM
I recently (approximately one and a half months ago) discovered two small, flesh-colored bumps midway up on the shaft of my penis. These bumps range in size from 2mm-3mm. They are in no way painful or irritating (i.e. itchy, sore, etc.). I have never had any STDs or symptoms for that matter. I have been in a monogamous relationship for nearly seven years. Consequently, I am perplexed and concerned as to what these bumps could be. My wife gets regular check-ups at the OBGYN and has never had any unusual results. Prior to my current relationship, I did have unprotected intercourse. Do these bumps sound like they could be genital warts under the given circumstances? If so, is a seven (or more) year incubation period unusual? If not, what could these bumps likely be? I have not yet visited a physician regarding this matter. While I realize it is impossible to accurately diagnose someone over the internet, any input that you might have would be greatly appreciated.

These sound not like warts but like small skin cysts that are common on the penis.  These are normal and require no treatment.  I suggest that you see a skin doctor to confirm this and then forget about it.

Best.

In addition to the two bumps I originally noted, I have also noticed a few other bumps on the sides of my penis, of a similar description, only smaller (1mm or less). There is also a cluster of (8 or 10) bumps on the upper rear foreskin of my penis. These bumps are barely raised (almost completely flat) and are only 0.5mm to 1mm in diameter. Would you still consider these to most likely be small skin cysts? If so, what is the cause? If not, what could they be?

No change on my comments.  Normal anatomy doesn't have a cause.
