Unexplained Flaring All-Over Rashes

22 Year Old Female
NO STDS
No Environmental Allergens
Known Allergies to: Onion, Kiwi, Pine Nuts, Bupropion

I've been dealing with the following for almost a half year now and it's starting to become unbearable.

Last year I had a bout of dermographia which was caused by an allergic reaction to Wellbutrin. It's been over 8 months since I last took it and the dermographia is no longer "official" (ie: no longer going on 24/7)

I am now on Cymbalta. I also take Neurontin, Temazepam and Clonazepam. For reference, I have tried going off my medications completely for 2 months with NO change in the below.

Since my bout with dermographia my skin is very sensitive. I cannot use harsh soaps or creams; shave against the grain or even scratch myself without getting a cluster of tiny bumps in that skin area and the occasional hive.

The problem lies in the fact that at any given time (day or night, awake or asleep, active or inactive) parts of my skin will get unbearably itchy. Whether or not I scratch, I will get a cluster of bumps and hives in the itchy area within 10-15 minutes. The bumps will either be small and skin-toned in color or red. They resemble my keratosis pilaris (upper arms only) after being scratched or picked at. I believe the hives result mostly from any rubbing or pressure - it's the bumps that concern me. They last several hours and are extremely itchy and burn badly. And of course, they LOOK awful.

I have tracked my food, stress, activity, even things like temperature and wind conditions. There is NO pattern. I use "free" detergents and softeners and double-rinse all my laundry. I use dove sensitive skin and only use neutrogena t-gel shampoo. I do not use perfumes. I only use Goldbond Extra Strength Medicated Body Lotion. Embarrassing, but i've spent extended time nude to see if it could be a clothing reaction and this STILL happens.

This mostly happens in my back, chest, sides, butt, upper thighs, upper arms, inside of my elbows and shoulders. It has not really happened on my hands, face, neck, forearms or lower legs.

Attached are some pictures of the rash as it has occurred:

I am financially unable to get to a dermatologist right now, there is just NO way. I'd appreciate any ideas. I've tried anything and everything to treat them (hydroxyzine, calamine, hydrocortisone, oatmeal baths, epsom salts, rubbing alcohol, straight aloe gel.) The only thing that provides TEMPORARY relief is the Goldbond Extra Strength (not regular) Medicated Body Lotion and I have to apply this every 10 minutes or so. It's stopped me from going to school, it's hindering my personal relationship and it's causing my depression to get out of hand.

Fits in with  'cholinergic urticaria'. You would do well with external calamine application and antihistaminics internally(Long term). Do consult your doc.

Thank you for your reply maatson. As I mentioned in my post: Calamine does absolutely nothing for the itch, not even temporarily. I have already tried antihistamics. Claritan, Benadryl and Hydroxyzine with no relief.

I have also already looked into heat rash. My symptoms do not really seem to fit that pattern. Temperature, activity level (aka: sweating), and a complete lack of clothing for extended periods do not affect when and how this occurs.

I also forgot to mention that sometimes the bumps will be filled with nothing while other times they are filled with a white milky substance. Again, there's no discernible pattern to which happens when. Here's an example of those bumps on the sides of my chest. Please help. This latest flare has already gone on three days - the rash keeps appearing and re-appearing in all the above specified areas. I'm desperate.

The other thing as a differential diagnosis is 'Dermatitis herpetiformis' associated with gluten hypersensitivity. you can try gluten free diet, if so.

Again, Maatson thank you for your reply. Some members of my distant family have Celiac Disease. I have already had bloodwork done in the past (before a gluten free diet was implemented in a household in which I temporarily stayed - I am not on a gluten free diet now but have been briefly) and I do not have gluten sensitivity.

Oh yes, but then one still could have DH with out gluten sensitivity!

Are there any other suggestions? I really don't think this is Heat Rash and it doesn't resemble DH physically at all. Believe me - if i could afford to get to a Derm or even a GP I would have gone.

Therapy would depend on firm clinical diagnosis. Representative images in google image search might be fallible, for they represent only an area and do sometimes mislead too.
