Unexplained spots on skin

Unexplained spots on skin

I have these spots that started coming up on my body about a year and a half ago. They start out as a small red bump, some go away but others turn into a dark spot, almost like a blood blister, then it turns into a scab, the scab usually comes off or softens in the shower and comes off and then its an ulcer type lesion. It does not bleed or itch. They started on my stomach, arms and back, they have been on my chest back and front of legs, top of hands, neck, twice on my ear and top of my feet and butt. Never have appeared on my face, top of head, palms or bottom of my feet. I just have no idea what it is. I have been to many doctors and dermatologist. Have been to family practice, internal medicine, and even infectious disease and rhumatalogist. Nobody can figure out what it is. I have had labs done and a biopsy. The biopsy just said that is was necrotic and possibly vasculities. I have been on and off of antbiotics and steriods. I also a month before this started had an abdominal US that was normal and two months later I had my gallbladder removed from disease and not stones. Not sure if anything to do with it but thought I would add that. Please help me in figuring out what is wrong with me or what I need to do to figure this out.

Hello,
Vasculitis means inflammation of the blood vessels in the skin. The diagnosis of vasculitis is definitively established after a biopsy of involved tissue. Other tests may include blood tests, ANA and extractable nuclear antigens (ENA), Anti-streptococcal antibodies, Hepatitis B and C serology, immunoglobulin electrophoresis or cryoglobulins.

I suggest you to consult a doctor and get these investigations done.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
