Unknown skin bump

Unknown skin bump

Hello,
Ok so for as long as I remember I have had this skin color little bump that has been on my knee. It has been checked out by dermatologists and is fine. Until one day I was curling my friends hair and set the curling iron down right on my "skin bump" and ever since it has turned brown. It has been a good 5 monthes since it happened and hasn't changed from the mixture of skin color and brown color. I'm deathly afraid of doctors and would perfer not to go if this sounds know or ok! Please leave comments with advice! Thanks!

Hello,
From the symptoms this bump could have been a benign skin growth or some form of ganglion cyst. They are usually found near a tendon like wrist or knee outer surface. This brown discoloration is due to trauma to the skin because of the curling iron. It should go away on its own. If it persists then you can get it removed like by aspiration or surgical excision.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
