Unknown spots/wrong diagnosis

I have these brown spots on my stomach that have been there for years, but lately they are spreading and are getting itchy. They are very smooth though and do not have any scales or bumps. I have been searching for an answer. I have asked a couple of doctors and one said it could be an allergic reaction to my soap, but it has been here for more than 11 years, but like I said has just recently started spreading. The newer spots are perfectly round and the larger spot is getting larger. This is on both of my sides under my breasts and on my stomach. I will include a photo. Thank you for any help with this.

One more question, Do you think it would hurt to just put an anti-fungal cream on it?

Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis but since the dark spots have been present symptomless for so many years and now have started itching and spreading, so it can be a fungal infection but the diagnosis needs to be confirmed by means of KOH examination of skin scrapings and skin biopsy.
