My son was not circumcized after birth.  He is a young man now.  His Pediatrician had always reminded him to pull the foreskin back when he bathed to make sure it would always do so.  When the foreskin does not return to normal position and causes discomfort and pain, what information can you give to help in this situation?

This problem is called phimosis.  If he can't withdraw the foreskin enough, despite good hygiene and frequent pulling back of the foreskin, then he may need to consider circumcision.  He should consult a urologist, who may be able to suggest non-surgical measures to help him.
