Zocor,
AdvairAdvair diskus
Advair hfa inhaler & baby aspirin for a number of years without any problems. Approximately three or four years ago I started to take Viagra. I not sure how long I was using the Viagra in conjunction with the Zocor & Advair but it didn't seem like a short time. At one point after a weekend of use following manufacturer's directions I developed a severe rash on my torso that spread to my extremeities. I had stopped the Viagra but keep using the Zocor for a few more days. My dermatologist diagnosed the rash as erythema multiforme. It never spread to my oral cavity but it was like I had a chemical burn on my hands, feet & torso. It took a long time to clear up even with the use of steroids, antihistasmines & topical ointments. My internist & immunologist couldn't agree on cause. I had tests for Lupus but they were negative. The internist felt it was the Zocor. I have not used either in the ensuing time period, only the Advair & aspirin.
My questions are: 1) Whether I could try one of the other Statin drugs for cholesterol? 2) Could I try either Levitra or Cialis instead of the Viagra?(could be the more important of the two questions) 3) Do I stand a chance of a worse or fatal recurrance if I try either drug? 4) If you feel I could try one of the alternatives, how to you suggest I proceed & 5) what drugs if any should I have available at home to immediately counteract a recurrance of the Erythema Multiforme?
