Vaginal Warts?

About a year ago I found two flesh-colored bumps about the size of the head of a pin near the entrance to my vagina.  I had never looked down there quite so carefully before so they may have always been there for all I know.  They have never grown, never turned white, and never spread since I discovered them.

I showed these bumps to my gynecologist, who almost couldn't see them they are so small.  She said they were probably warts and prescribed Aldara.  The Aldara had absolutely no effect whatsoever.  I'm wondering if these really are warts at all or just natural variations, but they are too small to be tested.  If they are warts, shouldn't the Aldara have had at least a minimal effect?  Or shouldn't they have grown or spread or changed color or something within the past year?  Treatment is expensive, so I don't want to waste any more money if they aren't even warts, but if they ARE warts I want to get rid of them so I can minimize the risk of spreading them to any future partner(s).

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Im 15, a virgin, never fooled around or anything. Noone has touched my vagina except me. I do masturbate. Today I found a bump about a 1/2 a centimeter in diameter close to my vagina. it is on the inner lip. It is tender and reddish colored. I can't have herpes virus if I have never fooled around, right? Or can I get it by myself? Please Help! I am really scared. -Kelsey

i found a very large bump outside of my vagina.  its very tender to touch and when i squeezed it a clear substance came from it.  my main consern is that it is warts and not just a pimple or ingrown hair.  please contact me with your opinion.

Hrd to say, but my guess is that they aren't warts and you just, as you say yourself, never looked there that hard.

I guess Aldara must work sometimes, but I haven't seen it do so.  Besides, it's irritating and expensive.

I think you have two choices.  The first, which I favor, is to do nothing further, go for regular Pap smears and Gyn checkups, and let your doctor do the looking, to see if they enlarge, multiply, etc.

The second is to have the doctor cauterize them under local anesthesia, or freeze them.

I'd ask the doctor--if he or she really thinks they're warts, then option #2 is thinkable.  Otherwise, I'd go with #1.

Best.
