Verrucous Nevus

My brother was recently diagnosed verrucous nevus on his scalp. He is 24 years old and has the growth on his scalp since he was a young child. In adolescense it grew bigger in size and is sometimes itchy. Now the growth is about 1.5 inches and the shape is roundish and raised ( looks like a wart) .  Is the diagnosis correct?

The doctor also suggested laser or electrolysis treatment to remove the growth. Is this the most suitable method of removal? Please suggest any alternative treatments or non-surgical options for removal. Is calcipotriol suitable in this case.
