Hello,
I bought a Vitamin C shower filter to eliminate the chloramines in the tap water. They make my scalp itch and my hair dry. However, i noticed that the water pH went from >8 to about 6.2. I read that the ascorbic acid (vitamin c) when it reacts with chlorine, leaves HCl as a byproduct from the reaction
. I am concerned that this could pose more serious problems in the long run than chlorine/chloramine. Any advice? Am i right to be concerned?
Thanks in advance.
