WARTS

by Bdome, Apr 15, 2008 01:12PM
So having read the past information posted on your web site, then NO warts cannot be transmitted?  That's what you said?

I'm totally paranoid because my boyfriend has a wart on his hand so I don't want him to touch my private parts with it!

I find it hard to believe warts will not transmit.  thanks for any info.

Hi,

Warts are caused by a virus, the human papilloma virus. This makes warts readily transmissible .However, it is important to note that other factors like the person's immune response and over all health are important. So it is not always true that exposure or direct contact with anyone having warts may actually cause one to develop the warts. But still, prevention is the best form of cure, so to speak.

Avoid any direct and frequent contact with affected skin. One may have an increased risk of acquiring warts through broken skin . Do not share towels and clothes. Always keep skin healthy, clean and dry. Eat well and drink plenty of fluid.

You may persuade your boyfriend to have the wart treated. This is the best way to prevent its spread. Warts in the fingers or hands are termed common warts.

I hope this answers some of your concern.
