Wart, Herpes, In grown hair, ?

I am a 32 year old healthy male.  About a week ago I noticed a small red bump in my groin area.  About an inch north of my penis, the pubic bone area.  It has two hairs coming out of it, not out of the center of it, but definitely coming out of it.  It is about a few mm in size.  It is a little tender if I mess with it.  I would say its partially in the skin and on the skin.  Just the one bump.  I don't get the sense I could pop it.  It is not overly noticable, but I am a little overly sensitive to any thing in the pubic region.  5 years ago I picked up warts from a girlfriend.  A year of going to the dermatologist and they finally stopped.  I have not had an issue ever since.

I have had two girlfriends this year, but don't have a reason to suspect herpes, warts, etc.

Any thoughts on what it is, how to treat if at all, etc

It sounds like an inflamed follicle, not a wart.  I suggest you leave it alone--it should take care of itself.  If it's still there in a month, you can show your dermatologist.
