Wart or Cyst?

by enigma05, Feb 25, 2005 12:00AM
I recently noticed a red bump which is on the underside of my penis when erect, and kind of on the side when not. It is about the size of a pea, and it is raised. I tried to pick it off with tweasers and it bled a lot, then I put a lighter to the tip of the tweasers getting them hot and then applied it to the bump, which stopped the bleeding so I left it alone. Later that night it was inflamed and huge. I've been putting antifungal powder on it for the past week and after scabbing up, it seemed like it was going away completely. Now it seems to be a little smaller than it was before I took the tweasers to it. I have prominent sebacous glands, and it doesn't look like one, and instead of its red color, now it seems to be getting pink. I had unprotected sex last July 04, and got all the STD tests (except warts as there isn't one), and were all negative. I know you can't diagnose it without seeing it, but the info on genital warts confuses me. Some info leads me to believe it is and other info not. There was only one picture of a wart that possibly resembled this bump. I have a very paranoid mind and after reading all these other people's questions I'm afraid to see a doctor and have him/her rush to the conclusion that its a wart. Can cysts be the size of peas, red and raised. I can't see it being a clogged pore. Its only been a week and I've noticed a lot of improvement. How much longer should I give it to heal before, sucking it up and seeing a Doc? Can you think of anything other than a wart that it could be. Its not molloscum because I've had that and it is in no way a molloscum bump.

Thanks for your time

Cysts can indeed look just like what you describe.  I am confident that that's what it is.  Please stop attacking it and see a doctor 2 weeks or more later, so he or she can tgell you for sure.  The advice you get will almsot certainly be to leave it alone and forget about it.

Best.

good luck.

im still waiting on some answers from the doc, so i am prolly not too knowledgable about this stuff.
