Wart or Skin tag

Wart or Skin tag

Hi,

I'm a male in my late 20's and had a spell of being treated for genital warts about 4 years ago. The genital warts that were treated were located on the tip of my penis and underneath my foreskin. The warts went away and i've been symptom free for about 3 and a half to 4 years.

About a month ago I noticed a bump in the pubic hair beside my scrotal sack. It was a fleshy lump and i mistook it for something caught in the pubic hair. When i attempted to pull it out i felt a small pinch which lead me to realise that it was attached to my skin at my groin near my scrotum. The result was that i was holding it(fleshy lump) in my hand and the place where it was bled a little. The lump is not similar at all to the type of genital wart i suffered from.

This picture would be similar to the original warts i suffered from.

My issue is this:
I pulled off this growth a month ago, it hasn't returned.
I have no visable symptoms since.
It seemed similar to a skin tag rather than the warts i originally suffered from.

I would like to know since the growth is gone(pulled off) is there anything that can be done to diagnose whether i have a recurrence of my genital warts or not?

Can you pull a genital wart off cleanly and not have it return? i was of the information that they had a root and i could have hardly gotten that

Could i have an opinion on what the visual difference between genital warts and skin tags are?

I am seeing a dermatologist in an STD clinic next thursday but would like any opinion available to me.

This is really beginning to get me down, in a very real way.

Thanks for this service of posting questions and thanks for any assistance provided.

Is there anyone who would have any input to this. The dermatologist said that it is unlikely a genital wart. He said that the wart would have to have had a really small stalk, which warts wouldn't have. Also since there was only one growth, this didn't seem consistent.

If it grows back then i have to return, but they could do nothing.

I am still very nervous, Does anyone have anything to add to this? Any input would be appreciated.

Is there anyone who can provide a comment on this? I think i won't reply to this again. I'm really bothered by this. I still show no signs of anything from where this piece of skin was pulled off.
