"Although warts are caused by a virus, they do not spread by contact."
This statement seems counter to almost everything I've read online about transmission of warts, for example that they're contagious, don't share towels, don't pick them and then touch elsewhere on your body etc. If warts are not spread by contact then how are they spread?
Hello,
Warts are contagious and can be transmitted by contact with the skin of an infected person. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects used by an infected person.
Hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Thanks for your response but you're missing the point of my question. The question is why does Dr Rickoff - the resident Dermatologist on this forum - say that warts do not spread via contact when that is contrary to what most sources on the internet say?
