Wart(s) on buttocks--possible psoriasis connection?

by gemini74, Jun 20, 2006 12:00AM
About 6 months ago, I noticed what I first thought was a pimple. I ignored it. About a month later, it appeared to harden somewhat. It is upraised. It does appear to have somewhat of a cauliflower appearance. It's about 3/16" in diameter and fairly symetrical, if slightly ovalish in shape. I did try using Dr. Scholl's medicated discs and for a while, I could see parts of it being removed. It got to the point where it was pretty much clear, except there was still a slightly upraised growth on the skin, smooth, same color as my skin tone. I stopped using the discs and its now back to a slightly cauliflower type appearance, still the same size. It does feel hard to the touch. I'm wondering what it could be? Since there may be a connection I'll also mention this: I suspect that I quite possibly have psoriasis in my anal-buttock region. I have not had it diagnosed, but will schedule an appointment soon (I've probably had this condition off and on for about 5 years.) It's quite embarassing and as a result I have never been sexually active or intimate my entire life because of it. I suspect psoriasis because I did have a similar condition on my scalp behind my ear for years. I used Psoriasin and it has practically vanished. I have tried Psoriasin in that same area below with only temporary relief. Any light you might shed on this would be helpful. Thanks.

First of all, psoriasis doesn't cause bumps.  Second, the bump is almost certainly not a wart, because that's not a common place for warts.  Using the Dr. Scholl's products (salicylic acid) will just irritate the area and confuse the issue, so you ought to stop.  Third, if it's really the case that you've avoided intimacy all your life because of psoriasis, that's most unfortunate and completely unnecessary.  Mild cortisone preparations can make genital psoriasis go away promptly.  You should look into diagnosis and treatment, as well as possible counseling to deal with your intimacy issues.

Best.

Check to see if you have a fungus. Use some antifungal cream on those spots and I bet they go away.
