For 2 weeks now I have had a painfulPainful menstrual periods, itchingCauses of vaginal itching Eye burning - itching and discharge Itching Jock itch Muscle twitching Vaginal itching, red rash with small scarletScarlet fever Signs of scarlet fever bumps in a somewhat circular shape on my inner thigh. I went to a walk in clinic and was diagnosed with ImpetigoImpetigo Impetigo, bullous on the buttocks. After taking Cephlex antibiotics for 2 days, I went to my normalNormal saline flush dermatologist for an Accutane check up. I decided to have him look at it and after 5 seconds of looking at the rash he told me it was Herpes. I am a virgin and have never received oral sex or even been touched down there. This is not to mention that I have not even kissed anyone but my current boyfriend who is also a virgin, etc and therefore cannot have Herpes either. So how can this be Herpes? I was not given a blood test or even swabbed...what else could this be? It has not spread but that may just be because I do not touch or scratch it and am constantly washing my hands and linens and such. Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice and hopefully peace of mind!
You just need skin contact to spread herpes. You don't have to have sex. The doctor should recognize herpes. But they often don't do their job properly. The virus typically presents with little blisters, pain and itching. If it doesn't go away soon it probably isn't herpes as your immune system should put it in remission.
If it goes away and comes back in a month. Get a blood test using herpes select. which should be accurate. Herpes is very easy to catch, and most people have it even if it never pops up.
My wife and I were somehow able to escape catching either version. Even though both of our parents have it. The oral version HSV1.
Don't worry. I doubt you have it,
Doctors always want the quick easy diagnoses. So they can rip off the next person.
I have had extreme issues....when I was 16 I was diagnosed with genital herpes from having one bump down there by a doctor who had to "leave" that group shortly after...I have never been sexually active until just about a year ago (I am almost 22). I have been with this person for 5 years and we're the only people each other has been with (and he was tested, no std's). I just decided to take valtrex like the doctor said to. I stopped taking it a year after because I never got a bump again and still haven't for almost 6 years until now. I have been having major gyno issues since I've been about 15. I've been on the depo shot for almost 6 years now too because of severe pain, vomiting, etc during or around my period. My gyno wont check for cysts or endometriosis (which almost every other doctor thinks I have). Well, after having sex for about 8 months, everything was fine until a few months ago. oh my goodness it hurts so unbelievably bad and recently just started feeling like someone lit me on fire down there ! So i've had my fair share of problems...(hopefully unrelated to this)...well about 2 weeks ago I got about 4-5 red bumps down there. Well not quite..they are nothing like pictures shown and they never blister. It looks like a large red bug bite. Doesn't hurt, burn, itch anything! It's actually located a little lower than the genitals and on the inner thigh down by the bottom of my butt. (it's hard to explain)...and theres one on each side that if i put my legs together, it is where your buttom and legs come together...so i figured well I wear tight jeans and walk around to my classes all day, it had to be that (laundry detergent, allergic reaction have all been ruled out). Yes I know I need to see a doctor but heres the deal..I havent had an exam since i was 16 out of pure embarassment AND because my obgyn always says I'm lying and that I was having intercouse/oral sex at 16 because thats the only way you can contract herpes (which everyone else has told me that is not true !!) And now, i told my boyfriend, and hes still insists on having intercourse not knowing what it is because he said he noticed he had a bump and if it was anything then oh well he probably already had it (i know, so optimistic he is hah), but it really isn't a joke to me and therefore I won't do it. I am upset because I wanna know is there such a thing as painless herpes that look like regular bumps (that I've only had happen twice in 6 years without medication), or was the test wrong? I'm embarassed and I can't even see my doctor til mid december because I'm a full time college senior. Hope someone can help and put my mind at ease that tests can be wrong, or that you can get herpes without having any sexual relations with someone.
