Week old abdominal surgery is weeping on one end. Is that normal?

My appendix ruptured sometime between Wednesday and Friday and I finally had emergency surgery 3am Saturday 7th January. My recovery has been great thus far until Sunday 15th I noticed the bandage soaking just on one side.  It continued with a slight weeping but the doc saw nothing wrong with that and removed the stitches this morning, Tuesday 18th.  Since the stitches removal this morning, I've gone through four dressings. It seems to be pouring out of me - no fever, no pain. Is this normal? What is this watery, slightly bloody discharge? How long am I to expect it? Was the doctor wrong and I need to go back to the hospital?
