Weird Hydrogen Peroxide reaction

by yikesinma, Oct 01, 2009 08:27AM
After a shower today I was  pouring hydrogen peroxide over my hands to clean out a few small cuts and I noticed patches of my normal looking healthy looking skin foamed....this is freaking me out? Is this normal?

To: yikesinma,
Hello,
It is normal to get such foam after pouring hydrogen peroxide on cuts because of the breakage of hydrogen peroxide into hydrogen and oxygen. If there is any redness, burning or itching then irritant contact dermatitis has to be probed.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
