Weird Lump, has gotten worse!

I have had this lump on my sternum for a few months now. Its actually been there maybe longer than that. I didn't really pay attention to it. I knew I should have gotten it checked out but I guess I was to lazy...

Well now it grown, it has gotten more puffed up and is painful when pressed. Before when I would press on it, it would not be painful. I am a bit worried and I realize I should go see a dermatologist.

I looked online for pictures of skin cancer and cysts but could not find anything that related to my problem. I am wondering if a dermatologist on these boards could just take a look at these two pictures of the lump/cyst/thing and give me a brief idea what this might be. If I should be worried or not.

No matter what I am going to go see a dermatologist.

Also I have started to get sick once the lump started to grow. I am feeling like I have a sore throat but its not full blown. Its like you are STARTING to get sick but haven't yet.

Any ideas on what this might be would be very helpful. Again this lump has been with me for a while now. It only recently has gotten bigger and painful. I will be adding photos below and linking to imageshack to the same pictures. This forum only allows for one picture so I will be adding one. Both views are linked below. I tried to shave to site of the lump slightly to make it more viewable.

Thank you so much!

I have had a lump for about  6 mos. now, it is not free moving , it more to the leftand about 1/2 doller in width. The area does not hurt. I have also had weird symptoms like tachycardia, extremme hungry feeling and every now and then i start to feel shakey and feel like passing out , I also get real hot and sweaty. if I go eat and sit down I will start to feel better these symptoms happen about every 3 weeks the tachycardia is everyday.I have no idea if the symptoms have anything to do with eachother. But I have not felt well for about a yeayear now. Please help

Hello,
Since you have had this lump since a long time, so the possibility of cyst has to be ruled out. Normally cysts are painless, but they can become painful if they are infected. Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected, then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. My advice would be to consult a dermatologist.

Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

Also I would like to indicate that it is free moving. It is more like a cyst but it more full cyst. IT has not leaked any fluid and there are no heads that have ever formed.

It has simply been a lump. Although I list it is located at the sternum, it is not boney at all and is free moving but firm.
