Weird Rash on Scrotum & Groin area

Weird Rash on Scrotum & Groin area

I have a rash on my scrotum.  They are pink circular slightly elevated soft plaques.  At first the skin was flakey and white now it is just pinkish red and the patches cover most of my scrotum and seem to be a little more escalated than the ones in the more open areas.  I found the first on Saturday morning and I rubbed off the dead skin and it became red.  I was so afraid taht it was herpes and I had a very stressful week ebfore as well as friday nigth I rushed out of the shower without completely rinsing the soap from the area after wearing 3 pairs of paints to work so i think it could jsut be contact dermatitis or somethign along the lines stacked up with anxiety now there is a spot on the udnerside shaft of my penis that was white and flakey and right above the penis are 3 more spots with dry flakey white skin when rubbed off they will bleed  I've had no blistering pain or itching but I also read that herpes can be asymptomatic so I am stil extremely worried that i am going to get a blood test done although resources say I will be wasting my money  I've had sex with only two people and they both claim to have tested clean.  I've also read that this could be eczema or a whole lsit of otehr things I just need further consolance.

Hi,

This could be an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or dermatitis or eczema or due to sweat or friction.

You should consult your doctor to rule out a fungal infection, tinea corporis or some bacterial infection. The further treatment and plan of management would depend on the confirmed diagnosis.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
