I was diagnosed with mono over 1 month ago. They had me on amoxicillin and they claimed that is what caused my skin rash. Since then my hands have peeled. They are very dry and I have continued to get small pimple like bumps on my hands in the joints and arms. They don't itch... I also have hard red knots under some joints which are somewhat tender. They told me that this stuff would dissapear in a week, it's been over a month and still coming! Any ideas? Also not realated but i have pin point bleading on my wrist with some white pigment discloration around which has been there for 2 years the doc said initially it was heat rash...obviously not. I am starting to get more spots like this few and far between. Help!!!!!

It's true that amoxicillin often produces a red, pimply rash in people with mono, but that ought to go away in 3-7 days max. Apparently you have something else, but whatever it is doesn't sound very serious. My advice is to have a dermatologist evaluate (or reevaluate) you to see whether these are clogged pores (folliculitis) or some other minor skin affliction. But I bey you'll be quite OK with a minimum of heavy lifting.
