Weird rash near groin need help

Ok I have never had anything like this before.  Last Saturday after working out, before i got into the shower i decided to use an electric razer to trim in my nether regions.  I used it on my scrotum, the area between my scrotum and thigh and inner thighs.   I then got a shower.    That Monday when I returned home from work I had what looked like a rash on my inner thigh where my scrotum touches the leg.  It looked like hundreds of little red pimples and it went down into my groin fold.  On the right side there is a similar looking rash.   On Monday the left portion of my scrotum was pinkish.  That has gone away.  Now I have these little pimple like bumps which look like some of them are starting to come to a head.    I have been treating it with gold bond medicated powder and it has dried the area out pretty well.  The area has not grown on gotten worse and like i said looks like it is starting to dry out and chafe a little.   I am pretty certain this is not STD related as I have tested negative for everything a few months back and have had no exposures.   What does this sound like?

One more question.  The doctor prescribed an anti fungal cream to apply to the area.   I really did not have any itching before.    After applying the cream to the rash it is itching really bad.  I looked online and it said that can be a sign of the fungus dying off.   Is that correct.  I made two applications already and the area looks alot less red.

Ok just a quick update and hoping someone could provide input.   I went to the dermatologist today after the bumps did not go away.  He took one look at it and said the rash is a yeast infection.    He provided me a script for an antifungal and said that should take care of the problem.

I was curious why and how i got a yeast infection on my inner legs and groin ?   My fiance has never had a yeast infection.

I am a pretty hygenic person.  I shower daily and sometimes twice a day.

One other question I have is can this be brought on by stress.   I have been under a tremendous ammount of stress lately?

Sounds like first you got razor burn then you got those bumps because the hairs were growing back. It's perfectly normal.
