Welts on Face

by KristoforC, Dec 04, 2007 02:48PM
A few days ago, i noticed 2 red blotches on my face where the surface of my skin was peeling off.  At the time, it wasn't painful.  Eventually two more developed.  All four are symmetic on my face and are now very painful and large.  As soon as the lesions start to heal in the middle, they seem to be slowly getting bigger and bigger.  I have been applying rubbing alcohol and they have been crusting over.  It looks so bad i haven't been to work this week.  I went to my doctor and he thinks an allergic reaction.  i've never had allergies and fear that the lesions are only going to get worse.  I've searched the net and cannot come up with anything similar to these symptoms.   I know psoriaous legions are symmetrical but the pictures don't look the same.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Just wanted to bump this post back to the top.  No one has any ideas or can't point me in some direction?  I keep getting more facial sores and if this keeps up, I am going to have scars all over my face.  This time they aren't staying symmetrical.  They don't get as big if I apply rubbing alcohol as soon as i see one appearing.  It just grows to a smaller extent.

Hi.
The skin of patients with psoriasis are scaly and flaking.  It usually involves the entire body.
It would be best if you have yourself examined by a dermatologist for proper evaluation.
You may stop applying rubbing alcohol as this may cause severe irritation on your skin.
Good luck.

Hi,

I think there is a good possibility of psoriasis. It can occur on the face too. I would suggest you contact a dermatologist immediately.
