What Would Be the Best Choice(s) in Treating Acne, Acne Scars, Clogged Pores, & Dark Spots?
I am 17 yrs old and I am curious as to what would be in my best interest for treating my acne related issues. My acne is very light and pretty much under control now. I seem to break-out more so during hormonal cycles in which my skin gets very oily (I get white heads
persists. Fortunately, they are not as bad as they once were, but I know in order to keep clear of any acne related problems I have to address this issue first. Some of it has left very superficial atrophic
scars. I know most doctors note that scars cannot be 100% completely removed, but I have also researched that depending on the severity of the scarring you can get a complete or almost complete improvement/removal. My scars are not severe in size/depth , but there are more than just a few (I am also afraid of the gradual effect if left untreated). My scars are fairly new in arrival which I also know serves as a great factor in completely improving the scars' appearance. I have been researching a many of treatment options from: every kind of chemical peels, laser resurfacing, surgical procedures (subsicion and punch excision i.e.), fillers, topicals, abrasions (e.g. dermabrasion, microderm, etc), and other ablative and non-ablative procedures. {My personal health/ health habits are right on point, if I might add.} I do know that scars are formed from the loss off tissue and also collagen, so I have hypothosized that the best treatment(s) will address the restoration/repair of the skin/skin surface and rebuild collagen. I also know that I have to go to the right dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or facial
plastic surgeon with much practice in the area of scar removal. The only thing is...I am CONFUSED! On one hand "this treatment works" than the other "it doesn't", or that "you can improve them [scars]" and "you can't". I am completely confident that my scars are 95%~100% prone to improvement if given the proper guidance to the PROPER treatment. My skin is not extremely sensitive (though, it can be sensitive to some extent), it also very tough, and I am of a lighter skin-tone. Money is not much of issue, nor, is [down] time. I am also fully aware of the precautions and patience that is mandatory if I should follow through with a treatment. Help me please! If I can just get the answers that will help then I can move on to the next steps of this which will be consultation (finding the right doctor) etc.....
:: Other information: My forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, back, and around my hairline are my problem areas.
Forehead gets light~mild moderate acne, and has dark spots and uneven texture. Cheeks have stubborn white heads that can become cysts, and [new] dark spots and pitted scarring. Nose and chin have white heads that seem to only be visible if you look close or in certain lighting. Around hairline and near ears I tend to get small pimples (on occasions I have gotten cysts). My back gets very oily and I get small bumps that seem to either be white heads or black heads, and I have some dark spots and very superficial hypertrophic scars.
**Excuse the excessive run-ons, grammatical errors, and possibly my lack criterion in certain areas. I honestly do not want temporary fulfillment (i.e. dermal fillers) so something with long term effects. OH AND NO ACUTANE**
