What can I do about razor burn

by SS, Feb 27, 2001 12:00AM
Hi Dr. Rockoff,
I get razor burn on my neck if I shave more than 2 times a week.I shave in the shower, both with and against the grain.I always use sharp blades and lather up well.Recently I started using a shaving oil and that has helped some but I still break out.Any help you could offer would be greatly appriciated. Thanks for your time

You have 3 choices:

1.  Get a medicated shaving gel containing benzoyl peroxide (by Rx--ask your doc).  This helps a bit.
2.  Grow a beard.
3.  Laser away your hair, or at least thin it out.

Option #3 is becoming better and cheaper.

Good luck.
