What is it?

by Kitty1224, May 10, 2008 07:02AM
It started like a mosquito bite several days ago now has spread all over my body. It itches so bad that I am constantly scratching and now I have crusty like sores where I have scratched!  I also had shingles several times and at first thought I was having another outbreak. This is different! I had shingles in my head and on my neck and where those  sores were is now infected. I need a haircut but am ashamed to go. Help!

Hi,

This could be an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or dermatitis or eczema.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products use a medicated sunscreen whenever you go out.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
