What is this brown spot on my lip?!!!!

This brown spot came up on my lip probably around 5 months ago. I have noticed over time it has gottin darker and maybe a little bigger. It looks just like a freckle but you can't feel it. I asked my doctor about it and she said I should see a dermatologist. I don't have insurance now so I can't afford to do that. PLEASE if ANYONE knows what this might be PLEASE help!! I am REALLY considered and hope its not cancer?? Thx!

Hi,
Any mole appearing for the first time and/or enlarging in size or associated with increased intensity in color is suspicious  and should be seen by a dermatologist and evaluated further.
A skin sample will be taken for a biopsy and sent for histo-pathology reporting to rule out melanoma.
You should not be delaying in this matter.

How would you define the spot in terms of the ABCD of mole assessment? Is the shape symmetrical or is it irregular? Is the border well defined or does it show some irregularities and some changes? Any change in color or is there any variation in color within the mole? Any increase in size?

At this point, just try to observe the spot. Take a baseline picture of the spot and try to see if there are any changes in its character and appearance. If changes are noted ,then it is necessary to have this assessed further by your doctor.
