What is this rash?

Hello,

I noticed this rash on Saturday morning. There is an insect bite (UK) in one corner which I scratched quite a lot. The rash has turned dark red in colour and is not very pleasant. It doesn't seem to be spreading.

Is there anything I should be doing? Do you think it looks infected at all?

Many thanks

Thanks for your response. The dark colour has all but gone. Some of the spots remain but they aren't very itchy and I think they are going. I noticed it when I came out of A&E. I had been there as I had fallen badly the evening before and broken my heel but I think it was just a coincidence that the rash flared up at the same time.

I'll let you know if anything further develops.

Thanks again

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This dark color should go away in a few weeks. But if you have any systemic symptoms like joint pains etc then tick bite should be ruled out. It causes Lyme’s disease which is a long-lasting autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks normal body tissues as though they were foreign substances. It may cause joint pain. Diagnosed by ANA titres.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
