What is this red circle?

For 20 years+ now I have had a red spot appear on my back or chest. Over a few weeks it develops into virtually a complete red outer ring about 1" in diameter. It doesn't itch and the red outer ring is only slightly raised at. As it fades this ring sometimes grows bigger in diameter before disappearing. Usually I have only one at a time. Is this an allergy, a fungal infection or something else? Any ideas on what it is and how might I treat it? My GP at one time, years ago, thought it might be "Granuloma Annualare" but offered no treatment. Just curious!
