What is this?????

About 2 weeks ago I developed a circular red rasied scaley patch on my neck that started out small as an eraser and has grown to the size of a penny and itches!  I have developed two more on my neck several on my arms, legs, and stomach. My husband has one on his eyelid and my five yr. old son has one in his hairline, I was thinking that it was ringworm, but im not very sure anymore.  I have changed our sheets everyday washing towels and clothes in clorox. I am 7 months pregnant I have seen my Doctor and have been perscribed Bactrim DS 800-160 and was told that if it was not better in 3-4 days they would send me to a dermatologist. I have a baby shower coming up in 4 days and I don't know if what I have is contagious and can be spread to other people! Being this your field I hope that you can help me shed some light on this mysterious rash????

Hello,

As you have described that your husband and son also have it,so it sounds like a fungal infection like ringworm(Tinea corporis). It is contagious and treatment is directed at all members of the house.Topical and oral antifungals are the mainstay of treatment but I would recommend a dermatologist first owing to your state of pregnancy.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
