What skin condition do I have?

I'm 19 and recently have had much more severe and constant facial flushing. My face has always been a little red, but now the color in my cheeks is more severe and noticable. I went to a dermatologist and they said that i might have dermatitis or acne rosacea. So they gave me a wash called rosula, and locoid lipocream (hydrocortisone butyrate .1%) to use morning and night. I have used both for a few days but i dont think i see any progress. Would a facial serum help strengthen my facial skin? Is the medication they gave me the right stuff? Are these signs of prerosacea?

Hi Dear

Based on the symptoms cited by you, it does appear that you may be having acne rosacea which tends to affect the "blush" areas of the face and is more common in people who flush easily. Do you have small bumps, pustules, or burning and stinging sensations on the face. A variety of triggers are known to cause rosacea to flare. Emotional factors (stress, fear, anxiety, embarrassment, etc.), weather changes, sun exposure, exercise, alcohol consumption, emotional upsets, and spicy food may trigger blushing and aggravate rosacea.  The symptoms of rosacea generally tend to come and go. The skin may be clear for weeks, months, or years and then erupt again. Rosacea generally lasts for years. The medications that you are receiving are alright for the condition and you would definitely see some benefit with these. Apart from this, you should use a good sunscreen and avoid the triggers mentioned above. There are other treatments for severe form of rosacea like laser treatment, photodynamic therapy, oral antibiotics, and retinoids which you could discuss with your physician.

Best..
