What to do with my hair bumps?

by luz848, Jun 25, 2008 10:30PM
I have a problem that I cant't find out what it is.  Two days ago, I went to get a haircut and my stylist found a lot of real small bumps stuck to my hair.  She said they looked like lice, but they aren't.  These are really stuck to my hair.  Each strand of hair has about ten to twenty of these mysterious bumps.  I don't know what they are or how to get rid of them. Please help me to find an answer.  Thank you for your time.

Hi

These bumps may be sebum or oil. This may be a  case of seborrheic dermatitis. In the presence of a greasy scalp with scales, then seborrheic dermatitis may be likely. Try to scrape off some of these white bumps and have this examined microscopically by your doctor. This may help ascertain if a fungal infection is present. In this case, frequent and vigorous shampooing is necessary.
