What type of cream would help dryness?

What type of cream would help dryness?

My fiance has MS and is usually in his wheelchair most of the time. My question is what can I put on his back to help with his constant itching. His skin is so dry and I've used aloe with cucumber cream and etc. Was wondering if there was something better I could find at the store that would help with his very dry skin.

Since he has MS he's on all kinds of medication and also gets an infusion medication called tysabri. The many side affects to medications I'm aware of so was wondering what else can we do about the dryness/itch.

thanks
Stella

Hello,
The mainstay of management of dry skin is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally. Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day.You can also use a topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment like dermacort(hydrocortisone). Adding a humidifier to the central heating system of your home or using a humidifier also helps.

If still the symptoms persist then possibility of eczema or atopic dermatitis needs to be ruled out. please consult a dermatologist in that case.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
