When will it end!

When will it end!

I have impetigo and have been treating it with Mupirocin ointment.  It was continuing to spread so I went back to the doctor and was prescribed Doxycycline.  I've been on the oral antibiotics for 48 hours but still have little blisters popping up on my hands and arms (and just noticed today a couple on my stomach).  They're little and stay little (about the size of a grain of rice), not like the large ones I had on my face and neck that showed up and became pea sized in a single day.  Some of them also disappear when I pop them and put the ointment on them.  I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes once you start oral antibiotics for the blisters to stop showing up?  IS it still contagious since I've been on the oral antibiotics for 48 hours or do I have to wait for the blisters to stop showing and be gone?   I also have Pityriasis Rosea.

I've noticed that the blisters that appear on my hands, arms and stomach appear to be on the edge of the spots from my Pityriasis Rosea which tend to be slightly raised.  They are also appearing in areas that I have rubbed quite a bit due to the itching of the PR.  Could these possibly be friction blisters and not Impetigo?

Hello,
From the symptoms it can be impetigo blisters also. It produces blisters or sores on the face, neck, hands and groins. It should get fine because you are already taking the oral antibiotic Doxycycline. Once antibiotic treatment begins, healing should start within a few days.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Sunday I was taken off of Doxycycline because I was having a reaction to it.  I was put back on prednisone for my Pityriasis Rosea.  However I am getting blisters on my face again.  I will probably have to go back to the doctor again.
