White Patch

white patches on the vaginal skin of my 4 year old daughter.

Hello,
We have to determine whether this white patch is present on the skin or as a result of secretions. It can be due to chronic vulvitis which results in sore, scaly, thickened, or whitish patches on the vulva. The other possibility is of vitiligo. It is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be confirmed by external examination, blood tests to check skin cell count  for melanocytes and biopsy of the skin patches.

To confirm the diagnosis please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
